The previous week was volatile for overall markets because the U.S.-China trade tensions escalated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Goldman Sachs, a trade deal is pretty much impossible before the 2020 US presidential election. This US multinational investment bank cautioned that the open-ended trade war has a bigger influence on the U.S. economy than expected. In a letter to investors, this bank lowered its growth forecast for the market movements. Also, it warned the risk of recession is growing. The value is the same for the past three days. The People\u2019s Bank of China set the currency\u2019s reference limit at 7.0211 per dollar. That is lower than the level on Friday. The analysts had expected an even lower point.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MarketWatch<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hong Kong\u2019s Hang Seng Index <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/investing\/index\/hsi?countrycode=hk&amp;mod=MW_story_quote\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HSI, -0.18%<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 gave up early gains and was last about flat, while the Shanghai Composite <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/investing\/index\/shcomp?countrycode=cn&amp;mod=MW_story_quote\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SHCOMP, +1.45%<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 gained 0.7%. South Korea\u2019s Kospi <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/investing\/index\/180721?countrycode=kr&amp;mod=MW_story_quote\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">180721, +0.23%<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 advanced 0.4%, while Taiwan\u2019s Taiex<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/investing\/index\/y9999?countrycode=tw&amp;mod=MW_story_quote\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Y9999, -0.21%<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 was about flat and Indonesia\u2019s JSX Composite <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/investing\/index\/jakidx?countrycode=id&amp;mod=MW_story_quote\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">JAKIDX, -0.40%<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 declined slightly. Australia\u2019s S&amp;P\/ASX 200 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/investing\/index\/xjo?countrycode=au&amp;mod=MW_story_quote\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">XJO, +0.09%<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 was little changed. Markets in Japan and Singapore were closed for holidays.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some <a href=\"https:\/\/traders-paradise.com\/magazine\/2018\/09\/asian-shares\/\">individual<\/a> stocks like Sunny Optical and Tencent raised in Hong Kong, but HSBC 5 fell. That opinion supports Ari Wald, head of technical analysis at Oppenheimer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe think the opportunity is on the U.S. side \u2014 U.S. tech \u2014 and we think the risk is in China tech,\u201d Wald stated on CNBC\u2019s \u201cTrading Nation. \u201d and added \u201cthe S&amp;P 500 is breaking out to the upside.
