On the other side, we have the performance of the typical investor over the past 20 years. You may have a <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">positive expectation with good risk management. In other words, your strategy is good. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But your profit is assured over time even though any single investment can fail on timing and valuation.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Successful_investing_is_all_in_the_process_risk_management_strategy_and_timing_It_takes_work_and_effort\"><\/span><b>Successful investing is all in the process: <\/b><b><i>risk management, strategy, and timing. You can think of them more as guidelines.
